During joint group activities, we pursue the following goals: 1. Creative brainstorming. The discussion will provide an opportunity for experts working on different aspects of the theory and application of wearable and implantable technology to exchange ideas, leading to fresh insights and new developments. 2. Initiating inter-institutional, cross-disciplinary research groups dedicated to specific scientific questions. To ensure success some of the groups will be seeded with experienced data analysts and scientific investigators who have a long track of successful and mutual collaboration. Other groups will form spontaneously under the mentorship of a senior investigator. 3. Exploring ideas for future funding from federal agencies as well as from industry to sustain the momentum of the initial research groups.
