Press Release:

Recent Advances in Banach lattices

The Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) will host the "Recent Advances in Banach lattices" workshop from April 29th to May 4th, 2018.

In recent years, several areas of Banach lattice theory have experienced high rate of growth. The workshop is going to concentrate on these recent developments, including martingales in Banach and vector lattices, tensor products of Banach lattices, polynomials on Banach lattices, geometry of Banach latices, unconditional structures in Banach lattices, and multinorms. The goal of the workshop is to bring together the leading experts and active young researchers to discuss the current and future directions of these developments and to identify potential applications and the main open problems. We also plan to try to understand the "big picture" of connections between these developments and other areas of Functional Analysis.

The Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) in Mexico, and the Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) in Banff, are collaborative Canada-US-Mexico ventures that provide an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station in Banff is supported by Canada's Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), Alberta's Advanced Education and Technology, and Mexico's Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT). The research station in Oaxaca is funded by CONACYT.
