Description

The Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) will host the "Tilting Theory, Singularity Categories, and Noncommutative Resolutions" workshop in Oaxaca, from September 1, 2019 to September 6, 2019.

The proposed Workshop aims to study bridges between representations of algebras on one side and algebraic geometry and singularity theory on the other. One such bridge is provided by a process called "tilting", but it is currently not known when exactly tilting applies or which algebras are obtained. It is expected that the joint efforts of a group of internationally leading experts from many different areas of mathematics is yielding new insight in the difficult nature of these objects of study.

The Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) in Mexico, and the Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) in Banff, are collaborative Canada-US-Mexico ventures that provide an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station in Banff is supported by Canada's Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), Alberta's Advanced Education and Technology, and Mexico's Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT). The research station in Oaxaca is funded by CONACYT
