Valeria Pandelieva (Canadian Math Kangaroo Contest)

The "Math Kangaroo Contest" workshop will be hosted at The Banff International Research Station.

The BIRS workshop is intended to gather mathematicians who are already contest coordinators of the Canadian Math Kangaroo team. Several international Math Kangaroo volunteers from USA, Mexico and overseas (mainly Europe) will participate in order to exchange ideas and plan join activities within North America and the globe. The goal of the workshop is to exchange ideas and discuss issues related to the organization of the contest as well as coordinate activities at local, national and international level with the purpose of inspiring and promoting interest and excellence in mathematics.

The Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) is a collaborative Canada-US-Mexico venture that provides an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station is located at The Banff Centre in Alberta and is supported by Canada's Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the US National Science Foundation (NSF), Alberta's Advanced Education and Technology, and Mexico's Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologí255a (CONACYT).
