The Banff International Research Station will host the “Recent Developments in Logarithmic Conformal Field Theory” workshop in Banff from July 20 to 25, 2025.



A series of recent groundbreaking results in Logarithmic Conformal Field Theory (Log-CFT) suggest fascinating general connections between diverse mathematical structures and important physics models such as higher dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories.
This workshop will congregate leading experts in the areas of logarithmic vertex operator algebras, number theory, tensor categories, $\mathcal{N} = 2$ supersymmetric gauge theories and quantum topology to connect these communities and inform each other about the quickly developing progress in their respective areas. This scientific meeting will gather experts in different areas of mathematical physics and provide an avenue to explain the nature of the surprising correspondences between myriad mathematical structures and the physics models involved in logarithmic conformal field theory.



The Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) is a collaborative Canada-US-Mexico venture that provides an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station is located at The Banff Centre in Alberta and is supported by Canada’s Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), and Alberta’s Advanced Education and Technology.
